Devin, the middle of the three renowned Firebearer brothers is known for his adaptability and cunning —not only in battle but also in words- which is why he proudly holds the title.
Burning Tongue is the definition of a Sea Dragon, able to spit fire and shout curses filled with malice at those daring to cross paths with him or his close ones.
Charging their enemies with a deadly hail of blows from his teal-metal blades, he is dexterous in battle, incredibly flexible and precise— though also highly risky. His gambles usually pay off considering both his skills and resourceful, quick mind.
On the ship, he takes on secondary leadership roles and enjoys action more than anything else, especially one filled with idealistic fights in the name of their somewhat barbaric clan culture.
Although Burning Tongue is a scoundrel, generally considered boorish and direct yet widely respected among the extensive pirate family, in private, he has a deep fascination with boatbuilding and artistically crafted clothing—especially shoes.
He also has a secret soft spot for well-prepared calamari and stolen wine. Not to mention his knack for gambling, which he enjoys putting to use regularly.
He and his older brother Desmond share a long history of experiences and quarrels, but they trust no one more than each other. Devin always felt like his older brother's shadow—carefully following his trail to the top of the Den's hierarchy while watching his back at all times.
Their younger brother Darien however is the one that binds them all together, and Devin understands him best— often offering honest advice when no one is around to witness Burning Toungue's unusual decency.
The constantly optimistic youngling of the crew is Darien. He does not seem to fit well into the pirate canon, thanks to his well-kept appearance and rather fancy clothes,
combined with a sincere smile and soft features. Fire Walker is known more for putting on a show than for wreaking havoc
—his charisma makes up for his general lack of cruelty and greed.
Though still posessing basic fighting skills thanks to his older brothers, Darien is always self-aware of his mediocrity on the battlefield.
He relies on his acrobatic skills and sharp senses to retreat quickly when needed.
Fire Walker is one of the pirates who most often go ashore, sneaking under the watchful eye of the guards, maneuvering between people and inns,
looking for thrills and potential accomplices— be it traders or future crewmates.
In the Den, however, he is always seen as the youngest D brother and the softest of them at that- which causes others to undervalue him.
Personally, he cares little, instead focusing on his small luxurious privileges like land delicacies, culinary and bodily alike.
Darien adores music and sings from time to time, but his greatest interest lies in books which Firebearers don't get to see many of- and he is slowly learning to read on his
own and with a help from his newly found purple-skinned lover.
Among his brothers, he rarely feels left out and knows he can count on them no matter what. He makes truthful confessions even when risking Desmond's wrath and Devin's mockery,
as he values their opinions most. Darien also often serves as a middle-ground negotiator when tensions arise between the older two.
The oldest of the three brothers and considered a legend among the Firebearer ranks, Desmond for many is the Sea Dragon incarnate.
A Captain of many vessels and a charge leader of numerous raids, Magma remains more beast than man. Known for reforging his fatal disease into his greatest asset,
he permanently keeps his own flesh pure fire to slow the spread. Desmond makes use of the time he has left by melting his enemies down to the bone with fists alone—
his sheer strength and endurance combined with determination and unrestrained brutality make him absolutely menacing in combat, even with one eye missing, which seems to not affect him at all.
As much as he induces fear, Magma is rarely aggresive towards his own. He is well-versed in Sea Dragons culture, history and appreciates thought-provoking conversations.
Any other passions he may have, he is reluctant to share. His discipline and composure developed over years of surviving on his own, without the blessing of the Elders.
Despite his independent nature, he always keeps his younger brothers in mind and would dive headfirst into the deepest parts of the sea if it meant keeping them safe.
