One World Trade Center is not just the tallest building in New York City-it is a monument to the resilience, hope, and character of New York as a city. Opened in 2014 on the site where the Twin Towers once stood, it towers over the rest of New York City's iconic skyline.

At the very top you'll find the One World Observatory. The facades are lined with steel panels with glass fins protruding from them; at night the building is illuminated with LED lights.

The 104-storey tower made of steel, glass and concrete is crowned with a spire of 124 m high, it serves as a radio mast.

EMPIRE
STATE
BUILDING

The project was revised 15 times until the Empire State Building acquired the look familiar to all Americans. Architect W. F. Lamb gave the building Art Deco features: the façade is covered with limestone panels, the windows are decorated with steel or granite canopies and stucco supports, the lobby is decorated with different kinds of marble and bronze decorations.

There are 73 elevators in the building. A spire was placed on the roof: the original plan was to be the final station for the airships. However, the landing of passengers was hampered by strong wind currents, so the blimps were abandoned. The spire has been permanently illuminated since 1976, with the colors of the lights selected according to events.
